To our ECEN friends

Several weeks after the ECEN wave hit (and hopefully impacted) Italia I come to thank you for your donations to plant olive trees. Thanks to those who put into the carbon comp fund but certainly thanks to you all for your initiative bringing to reality in our country your meeting with its impulses and encouragement. We would not have planted any olive trees this year if it were not for all of you.

First a kind of vision for the year 2020 – like Rüdiger Noll for the CEC and for our centres suggested:

Challenged and pushed by more than 66 academies around Europe churches faced the global necessity of putting justice, peace and integrity of creation into action. Churches inspired by hope and faith, that the kingdom of God will come towards us, didn’t only publish memoranda, but became itself sustainable.

1. European wide car fasting action during lent 2009 and 2010 via ECEN Internet web side and in cooperation with church fasting action – going on from Hemma Opis-Pieper(ECEN member, Austria), Isolde Schönstein and others.What would be necessary and helpful for such a project:

• leaflet translated in some European languages
• an own Internet page linked to ECEN webside and others(Kirchentag
• 'leave your key at your pastor'

The scene of violence and destruction through motorised mobility is well known, but we dismiss this problem every day, knowing that we ourselves are stuck very deeply in a culture of motorised mobility.
