ECEN Domain Name
ECEN has at last got a short name for its website. There was a lot of confusion when the Vilemov meeting notes and the ECEN Inaugural Statement both went out with an old and obsolete address on, and even when the correction was made, everyone found the address much too long and difficult. So we took steps to find a simple domain name, although this costs more.
The new website address is http://www.ecen.org This is ECEN's officially registered domain name, that we keep, no matter who is webmaster or which service provider acts as host to the ECEN website. We have just made a two year deal with a specialist Christian provider in Scotland called Meant, run by WebChurch, based near Dundee. This deal gives us a lot of facilities which we did not have when the site was first set up, like discussion groups and multiple directories. Gradually we will now be rebuilding the site around the new facilities (and also with the new logo and design as soon as these are finalised).
3 November 1999
The ECEN Notice Board has been in operation since November 3.
Why not try it out and add a message? Click here for Instructions on how to use the ECEN Notice Board
The full text of the World Council of Churches consulation document on Mobility is available on the web in the Transport and Mobility coalition pages as an Acrobat file.
We have now chosen a New ECEN Logo
Now we will be incorporating this in a new webpage design, as well as ECEN letterhead, etc.
NEW COALITION PAGES ON ECEN SITE
Following the 1999 Loccum Assembly of ECEN at the end of October, we added two new pages to start off the Coalition sites on
Environmental Education and on
Tourism. We a full Dossier on Environmental Education, including a useful list of resources and organisations.
We also updated the pages about Issues and Coalitions. Now you will find contact details of the person to contact - Facilitators - for each of the 8 existing coalitions, plus the emerging coalition on genetic engineering, and how to contact people for potential new coalitions on biodiversity, water and soil.
