ECEN ASSEMBLIES

Fifth ECEN Assembly, Basel, 4-10 May 2005

on the theme of ' The Churches’ commitment to a Sustainable Europe ' see more...

WHAT ARE ECEN ASSEMBLIES?

ECEN is to a network and its key work goes on all the time. But one feature is that as many as possible come together in an ECEN Assembly about 1-2 years. Here members gather to renew the relationships within the the Network,

  • to update ourselves on ecumenical activity on environment in the churches,
  • to discuss topics of particular current importance,
  • to relate to local issues in the host country,
  • to share in worship and liturgical experiment on a theme of God's creation, and
  • to continue our theological reflections.
In particular it provides an opportunity :
  • to carry forward the work done in the various ECEN working groups, and
  • to share materials and experiences, and
  • to plan and resource activities for the next period.

Each Assembly so far has produced written texts and discussion papers.

In the past we met in Vilemov (Czech Republic), Loccum (Germany) and Raubichi near Minsk (Belarus). You can find out what we did and heard and discussed on the various web pages :

    1998 Vilemov Assembly
    1999 Loccum Assembly
    2001 Raubichi Assembly

    2003 Volos Assembly
