Main Website Language
For practical reasons, at present we have only had time and skills to set up the main parts of this website in English. Of course, we recognise that English is not universal, and that some members of the network do not feel confident communicating in English, but this is the best compromise situation for the time being. Eventually we would like to be able to have at least the most general parts of the website in some of the more common other languages also, but this needs translation help.
Other Languages
We have included some organisations which already had a website in two languages, which is the ideal situation :
Some pages are in one language only, for instance :
As people send us material, we will begin to see other languages also on the website. We are not sure what will happen if we get texts in the Cyrillic alphabet, but we will see!
Naturally, organisations which are members of the Network can put a page on the website in their national language, but we would kindly also ask you to provide an English text at the same time!
We would also accept pages on different Issues and Coalitions in other languages, but again, they will be of most help to the Network if you give either a full English translation or at least a few lines of summary in English. Recognise that if you only have it in your own laguage, it will only be read by people who speak that language!
For further information, see our separate page on How to Add Your Material to this Site.
If providing even a small English summary presents a problem for you please contact the webmaster!
Usually, in order to make an equivalent page or set of pages in, for example, German, it will need someone
a). to do some translating and
b). to help in inserting the translated text into each of the web pages.
This is beyond our time and skill. Is anyone out there prepared to do this? If you are, please contact the webmaster!
