Situated on the Alvor estuary in the heart of the Algarve, Cruzinha is the first centre of the International Christian Conservation Organisation - A Rocha, begun in 1986. It has developed a reputation for the good quality of its ecological studies. As well as welcoming visitors from many countries, it seeks to be a catalyst for wider environmental work and education in Portugal.
