Information, theology and recommendations for action to accompany the liturgical material. The United Nations have declared 2005 the International Year of Physics, as the centenary of Albert Einstein's 'Miracle Year' in 1905.

Background Dossier - Time of Creation 2004

This is a dossier of background information, theology, ethics and suggested praxis on the theme of Rice (2004 is the UN International Year of Rice). It is offered to the Christian Churches of Europe to assist them in celebrating the Creator and creation in 2004. (See below for a set of liturgical materials for 2004)

A multilingual (English, Deutsch & Français) dossier of liturgical materials (pdf 373KB or Word 144KB) on the theme of "Preserving Land, Water and Air" is now available from ECEN's Creation Time Working Group for 2004.

In the line of the tradition from previous years, ECEN offers this material related to God’s creation to its members and to the churches in Europe for use during the Creation Time. We believe that the material will help in organising worship services and prayers in this particular period but will also contribute to raising awareness of the need for the protection of Creation and for the role which churches play in this task.
