The Economics, Ecology and Social Affairs Working Group of the Church and Society Commission of the Conference of European Churches (formerly the European Ecumenical Commission for Church and Society) produced a highly influencial report European Ecumenical Commission for Church and Society (EECCS) report "The Dominant Economic Model and Sustainable Development - are they compatible" 1995. See the Executive Summary This was followed up by a second report in 1999, "Sustainable Development and the Market Economy".
