After years of debate on developing more sustainable communities, the time has come to be inspired by other lifestyle-changing experiences such as Transition Communities, Eco-Congregations, Earth be Glad, Christian Sustainable Lifestyle, New Monasticism, Permaculture, etc.
Our intention is to bring together different aspects of community living, in order to reduce the human footprint and make the future possible.
Under the heading Transforming our Living we want to develop existing work on sustainable eco-management with a primary focus on the building of sustainable communities. The distinguishing feature of such an effort is our founding basis of Christian theology and ethics. It starts with practical concerns concerning the lifestyles of individuals and the local church community, considering how to live, rather than considering questions of the overwhelming global political picture.
Topics we want to concentrate on are:
- - how and where local communities will source their food, energy, water and other resources
- - how people will communicate, move around and trade
- - what values will underpin the development of these massive changes.
