Hope in a Changing Climate conference

Hope in a Changing Climate conference

The EWDC is hosting the first major post-Paris faith conference on climate change, which is being supported by all the main Christian denominations and NGOs.  Operation Noah is one of the partners who have helped to organise the conference. We will be represented there with a stand so please come and say hello if you are attending.

This event is definitely a must for anyone keen on building the Christian climate movement and holding our government to account on taking climate action in line with what was agreed in Paris.
This two-day conference will look at the importance of what happened at COP21 from different perspectives and the challenges we now face to deliver on the Paris Agreement. The focus will be on the role of the Church going forward—and how we can work across denominations and national boundaries for a vision of a restored Creation.

The first day of the conference (Friday, 15 April) will be spent reflecting on the political, theological and practical implications of the Paris Agreement.  On the second day of the conference (Saturday, 16 April), you will have the chance to choose from a number of practical workshops to help equip you to take action in your church and community.

Conference speakers include leading climate scientist Myles Allen; theologians Michael Northcott, Martin Poulsom, Rosalind Selby and Ruth Valerio; climate communicator George Marshall; climate advocates Paul Cook and church leaders Jo Herbert, Bishop William Kenney, Rachel Lampard, and Bishop Graham Usher—plus Operation Noah’s very own Mark Letcher, who will be leading a disinvestment workshop.

Date: 15-16 April
Place: Central Hall, Coventry

Further details and booking information are available on the EWDC website and on the Operation Noah website.
